This Muscadet de Sèvre et Maine from the Melon de Bourgogne variety comes from a vineyard planted in 1974 in the village of Vallet. The vineyard is characterized by mica shale as well as gneis with inclusions of mica from the Armoricain massif. The name of the Gemann is Vera Cruz.
The hand-sailted grapes were pressed in a pneumatic press, whereby the strength and duration of the pressing were adapted to the respective vintage. This was followed by spontaneous fermentation with natural yeasts, followed by fermentation and maturation on the yeast in underground cement cuves lined with glass for seven months. No smoff until bottled.
